On 3 December, Verona hosted a significant presentation of the documentary Un sogno italiano (An Italian Dream), directed by Fausto Caviglia and produced by Orisa Produzioni in collaboration with LattePlus. The event took place as part of a conference organised by the Museum of Italian Emigration to mark the anniversary of the 1955 bilateral agreements between Italy and Germany, which marked the beginning of the formal recruitment of Italian workers in Germany.
The evening was attended by producer Cristiano Bortone of Orisa Produzioni and co-producer Antonio Padovani, representing the production company.
The film received a warm welcome: the audience appreciated the work’s ability to convey, through a mosaic of testimonies, images and personal memories, a profound and touching portrait of the Italian post-war migration experience. Un sogno italiano is thus a choral narrative that intertwines history, identity and emotions, bringing a collective heritage of great value back into the spotlight.
After Verona, the documentary continues its international tour: the German premiere is scheduled for 11 December at the Italian Embassy in Berlin, a particularly significant event given the theme of the agreements and the strong historical ties between the two countries.
