Filming of “Il mio posto è qui” has concluded.
The film, written and directed by Daniela Porto and Cristiano Bortone, is based on the novel by Porto herself, soon to be published with Sperling & Kupfer.
The story, set in rural Calabria in the late 1940s, tells of the friendship between a single mother and the local wedding planner, the only gay in the town, which leads her to challenge the community’s prejudices and fight to find one’s place in the world.
The film is an international co-production and will be made with the support of the Regione Lazio – Lazio Cinema International, the Fondazione Calabria Film Commission and the Apulia Film Commission.
