Shooting of “Il mio posto è qui” will begin in autumn 2022. The film, written and directed by Daniela Porto and Cristiano Bortone, is based on the forthcoming novel by Porto herself.
The story, set in rural Calabria in the late 1940s, tells of the friendship between a single mother and the local wedding planner, the only homosexual in the village. This friendship leads her to challenge the prejudices of the community and fight to find her place in the world.
The film is an international co-production and will be made with the support of the Lazio Region – Lazio Cinema International, the Calabria Film Commission Foundation and the Apulia Film Commission.
