“An Italian Dream” is coming to cinemas

There is a part of Italian history that lives on in the voices, memories and silences of those who left. “An Italian Dream”, the new work by Fausto Caviglia, stems precisely from this: from the need to recount the experiences of Italians who emigrated to Germany in the post-war period.

A narrative that weaves together first-hand accounts, archive material and places of memory, offering an authentic glimpse into a generation that built its future far from home. Amidst hopes, sacrifices and a desire for redemption, a collective story emerges that still speaks to us today, with power and relevance.

The film moves between past and present, shaping a narrative that is not merely a record of memory, but also a reflection on the meaning of identity, belonging and migration.

📅 Tuesday 14 April – 9.00 pm
📍 Cineteca Milano Arlecchino

The director will be present in the cinema to meet the audience.

The event is organised under the patronage of the Goethe-Institut Mailand and in collaboration with Cineteca Milano.
