An extraordinary achievement for La Violinista, which has taken centre stage at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival, winning two of the event’s most prestigious awards: the Cristal for a Feature Film, the top prize awarded to the best feature film, and the SACEM Award for Best Original Soundtrack in a Feature Film, for the best original soundtrack.
Directed by Ervin Han and Raúl García, La Violinista is an international co-production between Robot Playground Media (Singapore), TV ON Producciones (Spain) and Altri Occhi (Italy). Set against the backdrop of 1930s Singapore and the present day, the film follows the story of Fei, a violinist whose fate is upended by war, weaving together memory, love and music in a deeply moving tale. The power of the storytelling and the artistic quality of the film won over the Annecy jury, which awarded the film the festival’s top prize.
In addition to the Cristal for a Feature Film, the film also won the SACEM Award for Best Original Soundtrack in a Feature Film, which celebrates the central role of music within the film. The original soundtrack, composed by Ricky Ho and Isabel Latorre, accompanies the protagonists’ emotional journey and is one of the film’s defining features.
This double award represents a significant accolade for all the partners involved in the project and confirms the value of international co-productions as a means of bringing together different cultures, talents and cinematic languages.
These awards mark a key milestone in the film’s international journey and open up new prospects for its distribution and its reach to audiences worldwide.
