After several minutes of applause at the film’s premiere during the Venice Film Festival, the event film on the great master Ennio Morricone is finally ready for its theatrical release on 17 February, preceeded by a two-day public premiere on 29 and 30 January.
Produced by Gianni Russo and Gabriele Costa of Piano B Produzioni, the film is a co-production between Italy, Belgium, Japan and China.
Thanks to the efforts of Orisa Produzioni, in collaboration with the Sino-European association Bridging the Dragon, it was possible to involve the famous Chinese director Wong Karwai in the project. In addition to participating in the project as a co-producer, he is one of the many directors and composers interviewed for the documentary, alongside Bernardo Bertolucci, Quentin Tarantino, Clint Eastwood and Bruce Springsteen.
Block 2 Distribution, the production and distribution company founded by Wong Kar-wai, has also secured international distribution rights for the documentary, which will be distributed nationally by Lucky Red.
